This session will focus on our 1:1
iPad grant initiative for fifth through eighth grade students. As one of 15
schools chosen to pioneer the CPS Technology Magnet Academy program, Goudy
School is resolute in its goals of instituting technology practices that result
in active student engagement, enhanced learning, and increased academic
achievement. To meet Goudy’s goals of employing over 300 iPads as a tool to
transform teaching and learning this school year, students collaborated across
grade levels to produce a video documentary that investigates the school’s
unique identity within its community. During this session, discussion will
entail how we deployed, managed, and maintained over 300 iPads, lesson ideas on
how to integrate the iPad into your daily routine, our successes and challenges
in having iPads in a 1:1 environment, and how we redefined the classroom of
teaching by using technology as a means for learning.
